Less Than 1 month to go!

So, this is my first blog, ever. Thanks to Andrea for using gmail and setting up a blog for her and Joe (in Nigeria) so that I can copy them!!! Luckily, Robbie and I are only heading to South Korea (not that there's anything wrong with Nigeria). We will be heading to the wonderful town of Okpo. We'll be working at the DSME shipyard. Here's a link to the only real website you can find for foreigners in Okpo: http://www.gfra.net/home
Robbie's cousin is working at Woosong University, which I believe to be a few hours away by ferry, car and/or train. So, we've got family close-by.
I finally received my job assignment letter, so I'm just starting the relocation process and forms, even though my departing flight is booked for May 20th!! Yikes! There's still lots of shopping to do for some spare clothes and lots of personal hygiene products. Robbie should leave around June 1st, so he'll be there just a few weeks after me. But we pack up our belongings in Houston before May 20th, so we'll be very busy for these last few weekends. Stay tuned for more. I'll send pictures of moving and then shortly thereafter I will be in Korea!!!!!! What was I thinking when I signed up for this????
We have been making the rounds to say goodbye to family and friends. This was in Austin 2 weekends ago with Courto, John and Brecken. Brecken beat us all at the Bun Run during her first experience in the jogging stroller.

Signing off for now. Look for more in the next few weeks when we pack up!

WOO HOO! Welcome to blogger. =)
I'm glad you set up your site before the packing gained momentum! It does get crazy! Crazy like walking out of Sams club with 24 sticks of deodorant and 2000 miles of dental floss!

I'm really excited for you both...keep us in the loop!

Peace,
Andrea

WHo is that sexy girl in RED? Whoa, give me her number!!!

I cannot believe you are already in South China Allie! Have you eaten rice with the locals yet?

I must admit, I am jealous of your experience. You will learn so much and what a journey!

Love you...keep sending us pics!

Allie

You will have to give Rob the Allison Riess guide to Korea when he arrives.

Send more pics and info, we love it.

Love and hugs
